All That Remains

All that remains is the truth, the unanswered questions, and your conscience. Feel free to print this summary out and pass it around.

Palin was a supporter of Pat Buchanan, a right-winger or as many Jews call him: a Nazi sympathizer. -Obama spokesman Mark Bubriski (Palin did not support Buchanan, and neither of them are Nazi sympathizers)

If you tell me I've got to take away this protection for these kids in order to win the election, some things aren't worth it. -Barack Obama's running mate Joe Biden, in 2007 on Meet The Press, attacking Obama's vote against funding troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the left attacks John McCain for saying the same thing - that Obama would rather win an election than win a war

Gov. Sarah Palin ought to go to New York and get gang-raped by black men. -Obama supporter Sandra Bernhard

In Baghdad, parks are filled every weekend with families playing and picnicking with their children. That was unthinkable only a year ago... -AP July 26, 2008 article. A year before Barack Obama was introducing bills to withdraw all our forces from Iraq.

I'll tell you my impression. We really in this last election, when I say we...the Democrats, I think pushed it as far as we can to the end of the fleet, didn't say it, but we implied it. That if we won the Congressional elections, we could stop the war. Now anybody was a good student of government would know that wasn't true. But you know, the temptation to want to win back the Congress, we sort of stretched the facts...and people ate it up. -Paul Kanjorski (D-PA)

If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention. Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. -Democrat Rep. Alcee Hastings (ex-federal judge impeached and thrown off the bench for taking bribes)

I know Sen. McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House. And, Sen. Obama has a speech he gave in 2002. -Hillary Clinton

You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them...So it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations. -Barack Obama, speaking behind closed doors in San Francisco

George Stephanopoulos (to Biden) during Democratic primary debate- You were asked 'Is he ready?' You said 'I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.
Obama's pick for Vice-Presidential candidate, Joe Biden- I think that I stand by the statement.

I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think the country'd be better off. -Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden on The Daily Show.

As proposed by Douglas MacKinnon:
Candidate A: Middle-aged. Studied overseas. Attended two different colleges in the U.S. before getting a degree. Went on to get a law degree. Worked community affairs in his adopted home city. Was elected to local office. Served in local politics for just over six years. Got elected to a federal state-wide office. Has one real year of experience in that job.

Candidate B: Middle-aged. Went to college and got a degree. Served in the National Guard for six years. Became a sergeant. While in the National Guard, earned a law degree. Became an investigator for a consumer-protection division. Was elected to a federal office. Was re-elected to a federal office. Was elected to a federal statewide office. Was re-elected to a federal state-wide office. Served in the executive branch for four years.

Candidate A is Barack Obama. Candidate B is Dan Quayle.

Obama (February) to Milwaukee paper- Let’s see if this [school voucher] experiment works, and then if it does, whatever my preconception, you do what’s best for kids.
Obama (July) to teachers union (campaign release)- Senator Obama has always been a critic of vouchers.

Over the next few months of this campaign, you're going to hear a lot of talk about change. Democrats say they're the party of change. There was a time when they believed that low taxes were the path to growth and opportunity - but they've changed. There was a time when they believed in common-sense American values - but they have changed. There was a time when they believed that America should pay any price and bear any burden in the defense of liberty - but they have changed. These days, if you want to know how a Democrat in Congress is going to vote tomorrow, just visit the website of MoveOn.org today. -President George W. Bush speaking at the National Republican Senatorial Committee's annual dinner in 2008

Obama (January 2007)...we can send 15,000 more troops; 20,000 more troops; 30,000 more troops...I don’t know any, uh, expert on the region or any military officer that I’ve spoken to, uh, privately that believes that [the surge] is gonna make a substantial difference on the situation on the ground.
Obama (July 2008)- What I said was...if you put 30,000 troops in, of course it’s going to have an impact. There’s no doubt about that.

Your responsibility is to put your family first. The proper attack is not that a woman shouldn't run for vice president with five kids, it's that a parent, when they have a family in need (should get out of the public sphere and stay home.)-Obama advisor Howard Gutman

In February 2007, I proposed a novel way to preserve the strength of the public financing system in the 2008 election. My plan requires both major party candidates to agree on a fundraising truce, return excess money from donors, and stay within the public financing system for the general election...If I am the Democratic nominee, I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election. -Barack Obama, November 2007, Obama announced in Spring 2008 that he is breaking that promise and becoming the first candidate to decline public funding so as to spend more money

David Limbaugh:
--The MSM preach that money in politics necessarily corrupts, so why do they ignore Obama's broken promise to accept public financing, his record-breaking campaign receipts, and the large number of untraceable contributions?

--Why do they dwell on VP candidate Sarah Palin's lack of foreign policy experience but ignore presidential candidate Obama's thinner experience?

--As champions of the "little guy" and privacy rights, why are they not outraged that the Obama campaign targeted, slandered and investigated Joe the Plumber by illegally using government computers merely for asking Obama one of the many questions they should have asked him?

--Why did they let Obama get away with falsely denying his culpability in opposing an Illinois bill that would have provided medical care to infants born despite failed abortion attempts?

--Why are they completely incurious about the many gaps in Obama's past, including his years at Columbia and Harvard?

--How dare they accept Obama's insulting claim that he was unaware of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's anti-American, racist and blasphemous diatribes after attending his church for two decades and calling him his spiritual mentor?

--Other than being sympathetic to Marxism themselves, why don't they ask Obama about his mentor Frank Marshall Davis and his admitted Marxist influence on him or that of his "openly Marxist" mother? Why was he "drawn to" Marxists? Why did he seek them out? Why don't the MSM explore the logical connection between that background, his alliances with Marxist terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn, and his advocacy of "spreading the wealth" today?

--Why don't they examine his self-description as a post-racial unifier against his autobiographical accounts of personal racial bitterness and his alliances with the Rev. Wright and Louis Farrakhan?

--Why do they conceal his complicity in Fannie and Freddie and his alliance with disgraced Fannie exec Franklin Raines?

--Why don't they demand the release of the videotape of his appearance at a 2003 dinner with Palestinian supporter Rashid Khalidi?

--Why don't they wonder how he dares to mock the Holy Bible while he claims to be a devout Christian?

--Why do they give him a pass on his many duplicitous shifts of positions on the threshold income level for tax cuts from $300,000 to $250,000 to $200,000 to $150,000? How can they let him masquerade as a tax cutter and fiscal conservative when he has been the most liberal and tax-raising senator and his new spending easily would exceed $1 trillion? Does he support government control of our 401(k)s?

--Why did they affect hyperventilation over Sarah Palin's supposed wardrobe extravagance, which was merely a matter of projecting her best image, yet wholly ignore Obama's obscenely idolatrous million-dollar Greek coliseum mirage?
John Hawkins:
Thirty Reasons to Vote for John McCain

1) John McCain doesn't believe we should raise taxes on anybody during a recession. Obama does and that will prolong our economic woes...

3) John McCain co-sponsored a bill to fix Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac back in 2005. Had it passed, we wouldn't have had a bailout crisis. Obama took in the 2nd largest amount of money from Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. In other words, McCain tried to fix the problem while Obama was in the back pocket of the shady operators who cost the American people over 700 billion dollars.

4) Barney Frank has promised a 25% cut in defense spending if Barack Obama gets into office. John McCain would not support that policy.

5) Both Barack Obama and John McCain publicly pledged to take public financing for their campaigns. McCain kept his word. Obama lied. If he will lie to the American people about that, what else is he lying about?

6) Barack Obama has received hundreds of millions of dollars in earmarks, including a million dollar earmark for his wife's hospital. John McCain has never taken an earmark...

8) Barack Obama says he doesn't want his daughters "punished" with a baby and that abortion is "above my pay grade." Do you think a baby is punishment? Do you think abortion is above Sarah Palin's pay grade?

9) Sarah Palin is a conservative reformer who has taken on oil companies and her own party as a mayor and a governor. Joe Biden is a career Washington insider with no executive experience who's most famous for gaffes, making things up, and being on the wrong side of almost every foreign policy issue from Vietnam to the surge.

10) Barack Obama spent twenty years going to an anti-white, anti-American church run by Jeremiah Wright. He didn't go to that church for so long because he disagreed with the message...

13) John McCain pals around with Joe Lieberman, Lindsey Graham, Sarah Palin, and Phil Gramm. Barack Obama has "pal'd" around with Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Michael Pfleger, Frank Davis, and Tony Rezko. What does that say about each man's character?...

15) For good or ill, John McCain is a moderate, but Barack Obama was the most liberal senator in America in 2007. Do you trust someone that liberal to run the country?

16) When there's an international crisis at 3 A.M. and the phone rings, you can't vote "present."

17) This is what Barack Obama thinks of Americans who live in small towns,
And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
How can someone, who thinks so little of people who don't live in big cities, truly represent all Americans in the White House?

18) Do you really want to spend the next four years listening to Barack Obama's supporters cry "racism" every time somebody criticizes or disagrees with him?

19) The mainstream media has been more biased than at any time in our lifetimes for Obama and they've launched an absolutely unprecedented smear campaign against Sarah Palin -- and worse yet, Sarah Palin's family. Do you want to reward and encourage more of that kind of behavior in the future by putting Barack Obama in the White House?

20) Barack Obama is a socialist who wants to "spread the wealth around." John McCain wants to spread the opportunity around instead of making people dependent on government...

22) John McCain favors judges who will stick to the Constitution. Barack Obama says he wants judges with "empathy." Would you want an umpire of a baseball game who sticks to the rules or one who has "empathy?"...

24) We have the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world and it is driving our companies overseas. John McCain wants to cut the tax to keep businesses in the U.S. and create jobs. Barack Obama does not.

25) Barack Obama will sign the Union Card Check Bill that will end the right to secret ballots for union members, thereby crippling more American industries via unionization. The unions are destroying the Big 3 automakers and the airline industry -- and under Obama, they'll be a further drag on the American economy. Furthermore, since when do we give up the right to have a secret ballot in America? John McCain opposes the Union Card Check Bill.

26) Barack Obama will sign the Fairness Doctrine into law, which is solely designed to drive conservative radio hosts off the air. When did we start trying to win political contests in this country by preventing our political opponents from being heard? John McCain opposes the Fairness Doctrine.

27) Barack Obama wants to force gay marriage on the whole country via the court system, which is why he favors overturning the Defense of Marriage Act. John McCain thinks marriage should be between a man and a woman, which is why he supports leaving DOMA in place.

28) John McCain favored the surge. Barack Obama did not. So, if Barack Obama had been President over the last four years, we would have already lost the war in Iraq.

29) Barack Obama wants to leave Iraq in 16 months, whether we win or not. John McCain doesn't want to risk seeing the victory our troops have bled and died for thrown away for politics' sake...
Mona Charen:
Top Ten Reasons to Vote for McCain/Palin

10.) John McCain is much, much funnier than Barack Obama. But then, almost everyone is.

9.) John McCain is a passionate patriot who has always been, and will always be, guided by what he thinks is best for America. He can trace his ancestry back to an officer on Gen. George Washington's staff and his family has served the nation nobly in war and peace ever since. McCain believes in winning wars...

5.) John McCain will try to protect the unborn. Barack Obama is the most radical pro-abortion candidate ever to win a presidential nomination. Obama has promised to back the Freedom of Choice Act as his first presidential act, which would invalidate all restrictions on abortion at any stage of gestation -- and even in cases where babies are born alive after an attempted abortion.

4.) McCain will employ diplomacy, not worship it. Obama is deluded about the power of "talks." In 2007, he proposed, regarding Iran's nuclear program: "if we are meeting with them, talking to them, and offering them both carrots and sticks, they are more likely to change their behavior."...

1.) The financial crisis and looming recession, combined with President Bush's low approval ratings, have set the stage for this election to be a pivot point in American history. If Barack Obama is elected president and Democrats control large majorities in the House and Senate, the Obama/Pelosi/Reid triumvirate will move the country decisively in the direction of dying Europe -- low productivity, high joblessness, low birth rates, high taxes, and limp foreign policies. The triumvirate will do this at a time when a vibrant America is more necessary than ever -- with Iran seeking nuclear weapons, Pakistan teetering, al-Qaida regrouping, China and Russia telegraphing hostility, and Iraq just barely emerging into the sunshine. This election has become about far more than John McCain versus Barack Obama; it has become about whether the United States will remain the champion of freedom -- economic and political -- or whether we will join the queue of formerly great nations now struggling to pay for all the social welfare "benefits" their aging and lazy populations demand.
Want more Democrats in Congress?

-In July 2008, Congress had an approval rating of 9% (first ever in single digits), its approval has not been above 15% in 2008, a majority (52%) say it is doing a POOR job (record high), Democrats approval of Congress is 13%, R's is 8%, and I's have a 3 (three!) % approval rating of Congress with 63% (!!) saying POOR (Bush's approval rating remains around 30%), merely 13% say that this Congress has passed any legislation improving American life

-In June 2008 the Democrats tried to pass an 'energy bill' that essentially just hiked taxes on oil companies, which history has shown increases gas prices, then blamed Senate Republicans for stopping something that would 'help people' (even though the bill contained nothing to 'help people'), the Democrat excuse seemed to be that were doing "something" (in fairness, raising gas prices is, in fact, doing "something" about high gas prices), Democrats refused to act on a Republican "All Of The Above" energy plan that called for more domestic production of energy, more investment in alternative fuels, prizes set up for new breakthroughs in energy technology, increased conservation, etc.

-One of Nancy Pelosi's big campaign promises if the American people put the Democrats in power in 2006? "Elect us and we will produce a common-sense plan to help bring down the price of gasoline at the pump." That was 2006 when gas was about $2.35/gallon. 18 months into their term, gas just hit $4/gallon and oil has roughly doubled since they took over, it finally went back down after their support for 'affordable housing' and Fannie and Freddie nearly caused the shutdown of the worldwide credit industry and crippling the world's economies. Not the best solution to high gas prices.

-House Democrats have (by unrecorded voice vote) begun working on declassifying the clearly terrorist African National Congress as non-terrorists (bombings and murders apparently don't count)

-California Democratic Senator Feinstein tried to slip illegal alien amnesty into a war funding bill in May '08 before being rebuffed

-After 2 years in power, their primary suggestion to counter the slowed economy is to raise taxes

-Passed an economic 'relief' package that excludes many military personnel and others with legal, non-US-born spouses

-The Democrats controlling the Senate were finally shamed into allowing a single judge to be confirmed this year but have failed to move on any other nominations - even though, for example, the Fourth Circuit is understaffed by a third, causing pointless painful delays, mental suffering, and economic damage to US citizens

-Judiciary Committee Chairman Conyers stated that he thinks Bush and Cheney should be impeached, aka committed high crimes or misdemeanors, but will not act on them until after the 2008 elections because he thinks it will hurt Obama

-Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats chose to take a vacation and hold votes on the President's right to hire and fire staff instead of renewing a law that allows our intelligence agencies to monitor terrorists overseas, polling data shows that 71% of Americans (vs. 23%) think that Congress should have been taking action on this

-Ohio Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur prepared a devastating GOTCHA for the big budget committee hearing - ready to pounce on Treasury Secretary Paulson - except the hearing was with Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, who had to stop Kaptur halfway through her GOTCHA to tell her who he was (and was not)

-Democratic Congressional Leaders failed to pass a 'patch' for the Alternative Maximum Tax until the last minute in 2007, the 19th of December, yet they blamed Bush and the IRS in advance for any delays in people receiving their refunds for returns submitted early in 2008 due to internal changes needed to handle the new rules, claiming that Bush and the IRS should have read their minds and begun making changes before any law had been passed - during a time in which there was much debate and changing going on to the law in question

-Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in an attempt to pretend to be religious, mangled a biblical quote in order to attack the President of the United States

-Democratic Senator Tom Harkin went on the floor of the Senate and personally attacked a private citizen for an action that that person never took but that liberal voices had lied about

-Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi travelled to one of the most terrorist-supporting countries in the World, Syria, in her imagined official capacity, and made false claims about Israel and negotiations with terrorists to the dictator running Syria (adding 'foreign relations' to the Congressionally dictated Presidential powers that Congressional Democrats have attempted to usurp in violation of the Constitition)

-House Democratic leaders have been caught, on top of trying to bring back the (un)Fairness Doctrine to stifle conservative speech, stating that conservatives that speak out, especially those with big mouths like Rush Limbaugh, need to be made "uncomfortable" for speaking out against Democrats

-Democrats have attempted to smother the funds our forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere need to conduct operations and, well, live unless the President renounces his Constitutional post as Commander In Chief and allows Congress to dictate military strategy and operations

-Countless Democrats in Congress have smeared the leader of our Armed Forces in Iraq a liar for accurately reporting on the state of affairs in Iraq, Democrats have admitted that success in Iraq is "bad news" for Democrats

-Chuck Schumer (NY) has openly called for the approval of judges to be based on ideology, not qualifications, and is calling on Senators to violate the Constitution and refuse to abide by their charge to perform "advice and consent" on Supreme Court nominees, presumably only if their ideology differs from his own bigotry, and refuse to grant the President his Constitutional authority to nominate Supreme Court justices, additionally, Chuck Schumer thinks that Senatorial arms should have been "twisted" to prevent the qualified Samuel Alito from being confirmed due to his ideology, lying in the process that he and other Senators were 'deceived' about Alito's opinions while at the same time noting that the opinions they reviewed all pointed to the same judicial philosophy now evident in Associate Justice Alito

-During a House vote (captured on C-SPAN), temporary Speaker Mike McNulty (NY) declared a vote 'won' by Democrats when in fact the tally showed that Republicans had 'won', he then, perhaps for the first time in history, allowed Democrats (including Kirsten Gillibrand (NY)) to change their vote - after voting was gavelled closed - and then, after Republicans left the Chamber in protest and disgust, called for a revote handily won by Democrats so they could pretend to have prevailed - McNulty pronounced the actions of House Democrats and his own despicable actions, "Exciting." As for Speaker Pelosi, she called openly stealing a vote in front of America an "inconvenience" to Republicans

-Democrats in the Senate, perhaps for the first time in history, banded together and used their official titles to demand that a private corporation take action against a private individual for 1) an act of free speech; that 2) never even actually happened (Rush Limbaugh donated the millions raised by this letter to charity and matched it with his own funds, Democrats refused his challenge to also match the funds)

-Democrats attempted to pass a measure reprimanding a private citizen for free speech, free speech that never even happened

-The House conducted literally hundreds of hearings into the activities of the President in their first year, but had yet to finish a single spending bill as of nearly the end of 2007

-The 2nd most successful action of the majority Democrats (after 'investigating' the White House with no wrongdoing uncovered)? Naming post offices - As of the end of October 2007, 106 Congressional bills were signed into law - 46 were to name post offices, courthouses, or roads - another 44 were noncontroversial and 14 simply extended existing laws

-Remember the infamous 'first 100 hours'? The only law that has come out of this is an increase in the federal minimum wage, and that was passed with mainly Republican support and Democratic resistance

-Freshman Dems chose a scandal-plagued lobbyist to head up their fundraising PAC

-Democratic Rep. Bob Filner of CA was charged with assault and battery for attacking a female stewardess who apparently didn't care who he was

-Remember the 5-day work week? First the Democrats simply didn't work 5-day work weeks and now they have officially abandoned the pretense

-Nancy Pelosi tried to make Alcee Hastings the head of the House Intelligence Committee - Alcee Hastings was a federal judge that was impeached and removed from office for soliciting bribes - Nancy Pelosi herself voted to impeach him (when publicized, his nomination was withdrawn)

-Alcee Hastings' replacement as the head of the House Intelligence Committee doesn't know the difference between Sunni and Shiite Muslims, nor to which group the murderous terrorist group Al Qaida belongs, yet he has served on the Committee for years

-Nancy Pelosi pushed for unindicted Abscam co-conspirator Jack Murtha for majority leader (he lost)

-Jack Murtha (PA) smeared our men in uniform, saying they killed innocent Iraqis "in cold blood" before any sort of hearing had been completed - the soldiers involved have since had their charges dropped or have been found 'Not Guilty' after trials

-Jack Murtha (PA) threatened a Republican Rep (specifically his 'earmarks') for challenging Murtha's pork, an action specifically forbidden by House rules, yet Democrats voted against a Republican call to censure Murtha for this blatant violation

-William Jefferson of LA was allegedly videotaped accepting a $100,000 bribe and $90,000 of that was later recovered from his freezer (he was re-elected and refuses to resign - he is facing more charges than Randy Cunningham (R-resigned), Bob Ney (R-resigned), and James Traficant (D-expelled after refusing to resign) COMBINED)

-Nancy Pelosi tried to place William Jefferson (see above) on the Homeland Security Committee, the Democratic majority unanimously voted in agreement (nomination withdrawn when Republicans got this out in the open)
